     On page 3, after line 23, insert the following:

     "(2) A hospital providing emergency care to a minor child who is a victim of sexual assault shall immediately notify the parent or guardian of the minor child=s presence in the hospital unless the minor objects to the notification or the hospital has reason to believe that the parent or guardian is complicit in any way regarding the alleged sexual assault."

     Renumber the remaining subsections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Requires a hospital that is providing emergency care to a victim of sexual assault who is a minor child to immediately notify the parent or guardian that the minor is in their facility, unless the minor objects to the notification or the hospital has reason to believe that the parent or guardian is complicit in the alleged sexual assault.
