ESHB 1502 - S AMD 469

    Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  All conservation district supervisor elections held before December 31, 2002, must take place under the procedures in chapter 89.08 RCW.  During this time period, the appropriate legislative committees of the senate and house of representatives shall review the election process for conservation district supervisors and assess alternative election processes, including assessing the effect of allowing conservation district supervisor elections on the general election ballot.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and takes effect immediately."

    On page 1, line 1 of the title, after "districts;" strike the remainder of the title and insert "creating a new section; and declaring an emergency."
