    On page 17, line 27, strike the General Fund--Private/Local appropriation.

    On page 17, line 37, strike "146,633,000" and insert "$147,473,000".

    On page 61, line 25, increase the general fund--state appropriation for FY 2003 by $1,814,000.

    Adjust the totals accordingly.

    On page 212, after line 28, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 709.  A new section is added to 2001 2^nd sp.s. c 7 (uncodified) to read as follows:

    TRAINING, RETREATS AND CONFERENCES.  The director of financial management shall reduce allotments from general fund--state appropriations in this act for the 2001-2003 biennium by $2,000,000 to reflect the elimination of nonessential training, retreats and conferences.  The amount of the allotment reduction shall be placed in reserve status."

EFFECT: Eliminates the proposed transfer for 50% of the legal costs associated with the Special Commitment Center to the counties.  The impact of the amendment is to increase general fund-state appropriations by $1.8 million.  Reduces funding for training retreats and conferences by $2 million.
