Background:

 

All Cities and towns, except for first class cities with over 300,000 population, are required to transmit a copy of the final budget as adopted to the state auditor and the Association of Washington Cities.

 

 

Summary of Bill: 

 

Requirements for transmitting final budgets for all cities and towns, except for first class cities with over 300,000 population, are amended to require transmitting of the final budget to the Municipal Research and Services Center.

 

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not Requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For:  This bill saves the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) a little time and postage, as current practice is for AWC to send the city budgets along to the Municipal Research and Services Center anyway.  This bill just puts that in statute.
