Background:
The Department of Licensing performed a fee analysis of fees charged in their Drivers and Vehicles Services areas. The agency found that a variety of fees charged did not cover the costs of producing the materials or collecting the fee.
Summary of Bill:
Ten transportation fees are increased. The fees increased are: Identicards; Duplicate Drivers Licenses, Identicards, and Instruction Permits; Photo and Non-photo Instruction Permits; Copies of Driver Records; Title Applications; Trip Permits, and $30 Registration Fees on Travel Trailers and Personal Trailers greater than 2,000 pounds. In addition, fees for Title Applications will be deposited into the Multimodal Transportation Account.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect on July 1, 2002.
