Background:  The Address Confidentiality Program in the Office of Secretary of State enables state and local agencies to respond to requests for public records without disclosing the location of a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault.

Summary of Bill:  Victims of stalking may participate in the Address Confidentiality Program.

Appropriation:  None.

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

Testimony For:  This program has been a success and we (the Office of Secretary of the State) can absorb this change with no fiscal impact.  Victims of stalking are in need of this program.
