Background:  Appropriations for the operations of state government and its various agencies and institutions are made on the basis of a fiscal biennium that begins on July1 of each odd-numbered year.

Summary:  Appropriations are made for the 2001-03 fiscal biennium.

Partial Veto Summary:  The Governor vetoed provisions affecting the following state agencies:  State Auditor, Department of Social and Health Services Juvenile Rehabilitation Program, Department of Labor and Industries, Department of Ecology, State Parks and Recreation Commission, Department of Natural Resources, State Patrol, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.  The vetoes affect $3.646 million of state General Fund appropriations.  For more information, see ?Legislative Budget Notes" published by the Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives and the Senate Ways & Means Committee.
