Majority Report:  That Substitute Senate Bill No. 6347 be substituted therefor, and the substitute bill do pass.

Background:  The Transportation Budget makes appropriations to the Department of Transportation, the Washington State Patrol, the Department of Licensing, the Transportation Improvement Board, and the County Road Administration Board.

 

The total appropriation for the 2001-2003 biennium was $3.715 billion.

 

Summary of Substitute Bill:  Project-specific appropriations are made to the Department of Transportation for preservation and improvement projects.  The total appropriation is $1.24 billion for the 2001-2003 biennium.

 

Substitute Bill Compared to Original Bill:  The Senate considered the Governor's proposed budget.  The substitute is the Senate's proposed budget.

Effective Date:  The bill contains an emergency clause and takes effect immediately.
