Background:  The Washington State Constitution reserves the right of  initiative and referendum for the people.  No initiative or referendum that has been approved by the majority of electors may be amended or repealed by the Legislature for two years without a vote of two-thirds of all the members of the legislature.

 

Summary of Bill:  The Legislature is prohibited from enacting bills that are the same or similar to a referendum or initiative that was rejected at an election within the last two years without a vote of two-thirds of all the members of the Legislature.
