HB 1053 - DIGEST

      Provides that a state internet information service may not:

      (1) Require a person using the service to accept the placement of information or software on a person's computer for the purpose of gathering information about the person or the person's internet usage; or

      (2) Modify information or software on the computer of a person using the service.

      Does not prevent the placement or modification of information or software on a person's computer with the person's express and knowing consent.

      Takes effect July 1, 2002.
