                      (DIGEST AS ENACTED)

 

     Revises the crime of escape as it relates to sexually violent predators.

     Provides that a person is guilty of escape by a sexually violent predator if, having been committed to the department of social and health services as a sexually violent predator under chapter 71.09 RCW, he or she:

     (1) Escapes from custody;

     (2) Escapes from a commitment facility;

     (3) Escapes from a less restrictive alternative facility; or

     (4) While on conditional release and residing in a location other than at a commitment center or less restrictive alternative facility, leaves or remains absent from the state of Washington without prior court authorization.

     Declares that escape by a sexually violent predator is a class B felony.
