SB 6114 - DIGEST

     Declares that it is the policy of the state to encourage and help sustain voluntary nonprofit organizations formed for the purpose of protecting, enhancing, and restoring the biological, chemical, and physical processes of watersheds, and to direct state agencies and state colleges and universities to coordinate their respective activities relating to these purposes with other state entities and affected local, regional, tribal, federal government, and private nonprofit organizations and to cooperate with and foster such activities to the greatest degree practicable.

     Appropriates the sum of two million dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, from the general fund to the department of ecology for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, to carry out the purposes of this act.

     Provides that the act shall be null and void if appropriations are not approved.
