   On page 4, beginning on line 31, after "license." strike all material through "date." on line 36 and insert "((A license so renewed shall take effect on the expiration date of the prior license.)) Until renewed, an expired license is invalid in the same manner and to the same extent as an expired license under RCW 18.210.140 and 18.43.080. A renewed license takes the expiration date of the prior license or the date of renewal, whichever is later, as its effective date."

EFFECT: Replaces the provision that a licensee may lawfully carry a concealed pistol between the time the license expires and the time the licensee submits an application for renewal with a provision that a licensee may not lawfully carry a concealed weapon until the license is renewed. Changes the effective date of the renewed license to the later of the prior license's expiration date or the date of renewal.
