On page 3, after line 31, insert the following:

   "NEW SECTION. Section 4. The joint legislative audit and review committee, in conjunction with the state treasurer and state auditor, shall conduct a cash basis valuation audit of the state investment board private equity portfolio and provide a written report on the findings of the audit to the appropriate legislative committees and the governor by September 30, 2003. This audit shall be funded by the state investment board."

   Correct the title.

EFFECT: JLARC is required to conduct a cash basis valuation audit of the State Investment Board private equity portfolio and report to both the Legislature and the Governor by September 30, 2003.
