   On page 6 of the amendment, line 22, strike all of subsection (d) and insert "(d) Establish and monitor performance measures comparable to the standards developed by the national fire protection association standard 1710.

   (i) Every regional fire protection service authority shall evaluate its level of service and deployment delivery and response time on an annual basis. The evaluations shall be based on data relating to level of service, deployment and the achievement of each response time objective in each geographic area within the authority's boundary.

   (ii) Every regional fire protection service authority shall issue an annual written report which shall be based on a comparison of authority developed performance measures against the national fire protection association standard 1710.

   (A) The annual report shall define the geographic areas and circumstances in which the requirements of the national fire protection association standard 1710 are not being met.

   (B) The annual report shall explain the predicable consequences of these deficiencies and address the steps necessary to achieve compliance."

EFFECT: Requires regional fire protection service authorities(RFPSA) to develop performance measures, comparable to performance measures established by the national fire protection association standard (NFPA) 1710. Additionally, each RFPSA shall issue an annual report which shall compare the standards of NFPA 1710 as a benchmark against the performance measure standards developed by the RFPSA. Replaces the original requirement to monitor and audit the progress of RFPSA projects and annually make public its findings.
