On page 125, line 5 of the committee amendment, after "learning." insert the following: "Any assessment in reading or mathematics created or modified in response to the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001" shall be designed so that assessment results may be reported in a format that allows parents and teachers to determine the amount of academic gain an individual student has acquired in those content areas from one school year to the next. Within seven working days of submitting a new list of grade level content expectations to an assessment vendor, the office shall post the list on its website."

EFFECT: When reading and mathematics assessments are created or modified in response to the federal "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001", SPI will design the assessments so that their results will tell parents and teachers how much a student has learned from one school year to the next. In addition, when SPI gives grade level content expectations to assessment vendors for their use in test construction, SPI will post those expectations on its website within seven working days.

FISCAL IMPACT: None.
