   On page 1, after line 27 of the amendment, insert the following:

   "NEW SECTION. Sec. 3. (1) In calendar years where a season is authorized by the fish and wildlife commission that allows for the hunting or pursuing of cougars with dogs under to this act, all hunting seasons authorized by the fish and wildlife commission must be limited to no longer than three months. This section applies to seasons authorized by this act, as well as all other cougar seasons, including big game modern firearm seasons, archery seasons, and muzzleloader seasons, regardless of whether or not dogs are permitted to be used during the season.

   (2) No cougar hunting shall be allowed during a deer or elk season in calendar years where a season is authorized by the fish and wildlife commission that allows for the hunting or pursuing of cougars with dogs under to this act."

EFFECT: Limits all cougar hunting seasons to three months and prohibits cougar hunting during deer and elk seasons.
