   On page 1, line 3 of the amendment, after "Sec. 1." insert "A new section is added to chapter 76.06 RCW to read as follows:"

   On page 5, line 8 of the amendment, after "deficiencies" strike "caused by disease or pests" and insert "as enumerated in section 1 of this act"

   On page 5, line 17 of the amendment, before "included" strike "targets" and insert "forest health strategies"

   On page 5, line 18 of the amendment, before "state" strike "individual"

EFFECT: Codifies the intent section. Allows the Department of Natural Resources to use its contract harvesting program to address all forest health issues identified in the bill's intent section, instead of only those deficiencies caused by diseases and pests. Clarifies that the priority for using the contract harvesting program for silvicultural treatments should be directed to forest health strategies existing for all state forest land.
