On page 2, line 6 of the amendment, after "department." strike everything through "2004." on line 8 of the amendment and insert "The department must phase in the production of flat, digitally printed license plates by first issuing such license plates for specialty and personalized license plates by July 1, 2004. The digital license plate system must be used to produce all license plates issued by the department by January 1, 2007. The department may phase in the digital production of all license plates at any time if the department determines that production of all license plates by the digital plate system is economically viable."

 

On page 7, beginning on line 14 of the amendment, after "the" strike everything through "RCW" on line 16 of the amendment, and insert "multimodal transportation account"

 

 

 

EFFECT: Changes the implementation date, so that DOL is required to phase in the production of flat, digitally printed license plates.

Requires that the revenue generated from the $1500 fee for digital design services be deposited into the multimodal transportation account, instead of the PSEA account for the crime victims' compensation program.
