Background:

 

The operating expenses of state government and its agencies and programs are funded on a biennial basis by an omnibus operations budget adopted by the Legislature in odd-numbered years. During the biennial budget cycle, the Legislature often makes adjustments or corrections to the biennial budget in a supplemental budget. A supplemental budget can be adopted each time the Legislature is in session.

 


 

 

Summary of Amended Bill:

 

Appropriations from various agencies are modified. Total appropriations from the state general fund for the 2003 Supplemental Operating Budget are $119.5 million. For additional information please refer to the "Supplemental Operating Budget Summary" and "Statewide Summary and Agency Detail" published by the House Appropriations Committee.
