Background:
Boarding homes are currently inspected by the Department of Social and Health Services (Department ) at least annually. The Department also inspects adult family homes. The inspection cycle for adult family homes is at least every 18 months.
Summary:
The inspection cycle for boarding homes is changed from annually to at least every 18 months, with a 15-month average. The Department may delay inspections up to 24 months if the boarding home has had three consecutive inspections without a written notice of violations.
