Background: Revenues from recreational shellfish and fishing licenses are currently deposited in two different accounts. Revenues from shellfish and saltwater licenses are deposited in the state general fund. Revenues from all other fishing licenses are deposited in the state wildlife fund. Moneys in the state wildlife fund may be used only for the purposes of the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

 

Summary of Bill: Revenues from the sale of saltwater and shellfish licenses must be deposited in the state wildlife fund.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
