Background: In 1997 the Legislature specified that hotel-motel tax revenue may be used only for tourism promotion or the acquisition or operation of tourism-related capital facilities.

 

Summary of Bill: Hotel-motel tax revenue may be used for salaries and equipment for tourism-related law enforcement activity in cities on the Pacific Ocean with at least one navigable lake, at least one state park, and at least one wildlife reserve.

 

Appropriation: None.

 

Fiscal Note: Not requested.

 

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
