Background: The Liquor Control Board governs the manufacture, sale and distribution of liquor, including wine and beer. The law prohibits contract store managers from having any financial interest in manufacturers, distributors or sellers of liquor.

 

Summary of Substitute Bill: Contract liquor store managers are permitted to have a direct or indirect financial interest in a domestic winery as long as the contract liquor store does not sell any wine manufactured or distributed by the domestic winery.

 

Substitute Bill Compared to Original Bill: The original bill was not considered.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
