Title: An act relating to youth hunting licenses.

 

Brief Description: Eliminating all hunting license fees for people under age eighteen.

Background: Any person, regardless of age, must have a hunting license and any required tags, permits, or stamps to hunt wildlife. Youth, defined as people under 16 years old, may purchase reduced rate hunting licenses and tags. Certain disabled veterans also may purchase hunting licenses and tags at the youth rate. People 16 years of age and older must purchase hunting licenses at the adult rate.

 

Summary of Bill: No hunting licenses or tags are required for persons under 18 years of age. Disabled veterans will continue to purchase licenses at the existing reduced rate.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
