Background: The forms of identification required to purchase liquor in this state must include the holder's correct age, his or her signature, and photograph. Current U.S. military identification cards have a signature that is not visible.
Summary of Substitute Bill: U.S. military identification cards that have imbedded, digital signatures are acceptable proof of identification for purposes of purchasing liquor in this state. The Liquor Control Board has authority to adopt rules regarding new forms of identification passed by the Legislature.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
Testimony For: This bill will allow entities serving or selling alcohol to accept as identification U.S. military identification cards on which the signature is digitized and imbedded.
