Background: A vessel dealer must register with the Department of Licensing. A dealer may sell, at wholesale or retail, any water craft used or capable of being used as transportation on the water.

 

Summary of Bill: An auction company, which is licensed as an auction company under Chapter 18.11 RCW, and also licensed as a motor vehicle dealer under Chapter 46.70 RCW may sell at auction all vessels that a vessel dealer is authorized to sell.

 

Appropriation: None.

 

Fiscal Note: Not requested.

 

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For: The bill will assist the auctioneers in the instances in which they auction boats.
