WHEREAS, For more than one hundred years the works and characters
of Lewis Carroll have inspired the imaginations of millions in the
State of Washington, the United States, and the world; and
WHEREAS, Literally hundreds of puzzle enthusiasts will gather on
the weekend of March 20th and 21st, 2004, to solve puzzles inspired by
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and What
Alice Found There; and
WHEREAS, An appreciation of the works of Lewis Carroll and the
solving of puzzles enhances the lives of our citizenry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
recognize that March 20th and 21st, 2004, is Alice in Puzzlehunt
Weekend in the State of Washington, and urge all citizens to join in
the celebration of the works of Lewis Carroll and the art of puzzles.
