WHEREAS, The American Legislative Exchange Council will be holding
its thirty-first annual meeting in Seattle, Washington from
approximately July 28 through August 1, 2004; and
WHEREAS, The Washington Legislature, which has active members in
the American Legislative Exchange Council, will assist in hosting this
annual meeting and its attendant functions and events; and
WHEREAS, In order to allow legislative members to fully participate
in hosting this meeting and comply with applicable sections of the
legislative ethics act, it is necessary for the Legislature to create
a host committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Senate of the state of
Washington, the House of Representatives concurring, That the 2004
American Legislative Exchange Council Thirty-First Annual Meeting Host
Committee is hereby created to be composed of eight members as follows:
Four members of the Senate, two from each caucus to be appointed by the
President of the Senate, and four members of the House of
Representatives, two from each caucus to be appointed by the Speaker of
the House of Representatives; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the 2004 American Legislative Exchange
Council Thirty-First Annual Meeting Host Committee will be cochaired by
four chairs, as follows: Two members of the Senate, one from each
caucus to be appointed by the President of the Senate, and two members
of the House of Representatives, one from each caucus to be appointed
by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the 2004 American Legislative Exchange
Council Thirty-First Annual Meeting Host Committee shall terminate and
dissolve December 31, 2004.
