HB 2220 - DIGEST

Directs the department to work with the Washington state snowmobile association, the Washington state patrol, and the Washington state parks and recreation commission to create and design a special snowmobile license plate that may be used in lieu of regular or personalized license plates for motor vehicles required to display two motor vehicle license plates, excluding vehicles registered under chapter 46.87 RCW, upon terms and conditions established by the department. The special plates will capture the essence of snowmobiling in Washington state.

Provides that revenue generated from the sale of the special snowmobile license plates under RCW 46.16.313 (6) and (7) must be used to support the acquisition of snowmobile snoparks, either through purchase or long-term lease agreements. If there are no expenditures of this revenue over a five-year period, the revenue may be expended for a different component of the snowmobile program, including but not limited to capital equipment and safety programs, as determined and recommended by the snowmobile advisory committee.
