On page 2, at the beginning of line 28 of the amendment, insert "(1)"
On page 3, after line 3 of the amendment, insert the following:
"(2) A city or town that does not currently impose a utility tax
shall not impose the tax under this section on a water-sewer district
unless a majority of voters in the city or town approve the tax at a
primary or general election."
EFFECT: Requires cities or towns not currently imposing a utility tax to seek voter approval at a primary or general election before imposing the tax on a water-sewer district operating within the boundaries of the city or town.
