Beginning on page 3, line 33, strike all of subsection (8) and insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 2 A new section is added to chapter 46.61 RCW
to read as follows:
A person who has a current national certification as a child
passenger safety technician and who in good faith provides inspection,
adjustment, or educational services regarding child passenger restraint
systems is not liable for civil damages resulting from any act or
omission in providing the services, other than acts or omissions
constituting gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 3 Section 1 of this act takes effect June 1,
2007."
Correct the title.
EFFECT: Changes the effective date of provisions that change child age and height guidelines for child passenger restraint systems from ninety days after the adjournment of session in which the bill is passed to June 1, 2007. Retains the effective date of ninety days after the adjournment of session in which the bill is passed for the provision of the bill that provides certain persons who inspect or educate on proper child restraint use are not liable for civil damages under certain circumstances.
