EFFECT: States that landlords need only pay actual relocation costs incurred by a tenant, up to $2,000 or three times the monthly rent, instead of providing for a flat reimbursement assistance figure of the greater of $2,000 or three times the monthly rent. States that landlords must pay any prepaid deposits and prepaid rent to tenants within seven days of a condemnation, eviction or displacement order and must pay tenants actual relocation costs within seven days after receiving receipts, invoices or statements from the tenant reflecting actual relocation costs.
