On page 6, after line 36 of the amendment, insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 3 A new section is added to chapter 48.43 RCW
to read as follows:
A health carrier is authorized to offer a product to any small
employer that complies with all the requirements of section 2 of this
act. A health carrier that offers a product under this section shall
comply with, and be exempt from, the same statutory requirements of
Title 48 RCW that apply to the small business assist program product
offered by the health care authority."
Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.
EFFECT: Authorizes health carriers to offer the same small business assist program product as the health care authority, subject to the same statutory requirements.
