   On page 3, line 9, after "concerning" strike "the applicant's character, competency, responsibility, and" and insert "((the applicant's character, competency, responsibility, and))"

   On page 3, beginning on line 19, strike all of subsection (3) and insert "((The director, after investigation, is satisfied as to the character, competency, and responsibility of the applicant;))"

   Renumber remaining subsections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.

   On page 5, at the beginning of line 31, strike "the farm labor contractor's character, competency, and responsibility, and"

   On page 8, beginning on line 17, strike all of subsection (d)

   Renumber remaining subsections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Deletes language requiring an applicant for a farm labor contractor license to provide a statement concerning his or her character, competency, and responsibility.

Also deletes language requiring the director of the Department of Labor and Industries, when making certain licensing and bonding decisions, to determine whether an applicant's or a farm labor contractor's character, competency, and responsibility are satisfactory.
