   On page 3, line 12, after "subsection" insert ", except that students must receive instruction based on state standards in the content area of social studies. Social studies instruction may be required as separate courses, or the state standards for social studies may be incorporated into other courses"

EFFECT: Although students under the CTE graduation option might not be required to meet all state standards in non-WASL tested content areas, they must receive instruction based on state standards in social studies. The instruction could be separate courses or incorporated into other courses.
