   Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert the following:

   "NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 28A.300 RCW to read as follows:

   The office of the superintendent of public instruction shall acquire an elementary school-aged model firearm safety instructional program approved by a national or state organization with a technical expertise in firearms and an extensive teaching firearm safety for children enrolled in public schools in kindergarten through grade six. The firearm safety education program described in this section shall not encourage or discourage firearm ownership, but shall educate children in kindergarten through grade six on the proper action to take if they discover a firearm in an unsupervised situation. The office of the superintendent of public instruction shall make this program available to all districts."

Correct the title.

EFFECT: Strikes all existing provisions. Requires that the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction acquire an elementary school-aged model firearm safety instructional program that is approved by a national or state organization and make the program available to all districts.
