On page 2, at the beginning of line 18, insert "(1)"
On page 2, after line 27, insert the following:
"(2) Floating bridges are unique structures that require extensive
maintenance and preservation. The legislature intends that any toll
revenues collected from operation of a floating bridge facility be used
solely for the repayment of bonded indebtedness on that facility and
for operations, maintenance, and preservation of that facility.
(3) Any toll revenues derived from operation of the Lake Washington
bridge must be used solely to pay for construction, reconstruction,
preservation, maintenance, and repair of the existing bridge or a
parallel span that is operated as a single toll bridge facility."
EFFECT: Declares legislative intent that tolls on floating bridges
be dedicated to the upkeep and repair of those bridges once the bonds
are paid off.
Requires that any toll revenues collected on the Lake Washington
bridge be dedicated solely to improvements, maintenance, and repair of
the existing bridge and any new span that is added to the bridge.
