     On page 6, beginning on line 32, after "board" strike all material through "chapter" on line 34, and insert "may recognize licenses issued to funeral directors or embalmers from other states and extend reciprocity to an applicant if the ((applicant's qualifications are comparable to the requirements of this chapter)) applicant furnishes satisfactory evidence that the applicant holds a valid license issued by another licensing authority recognized by the board as having qualifications for licensure that are substantially equivalent to those required by this chapter on the date of original licensure or licensure with the other licensing authority"

     On page 7, line 3, after "board" strike "must" and insert "may"

     On page 64, line 18, after "((one year))" strike "sixty" and insert "ninety"

EFFECT:  Authorizes the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers (Board) to recognize funeral director or embalmer licenses issued by other states which have substantially equivalent licensure requirements.
     Restores the Board's discretion in issuing a funeral director or embalmer's license to new licensees.
     Allows persons making funeral arrangements to request or arrange for shipment, transportation, or disposition of a deceased person by voice, data, text, electronic, or other similar transmission.
     Restores the current requirement that itemized billing statements to consumers for merchandise and services from funeral service arrangements mirror amounts paid by or billed to the funeral director.
     Increases the number of days that someone in lawful possession of human remains may dispose of such remains where there has been no direction for the disposition of the remains by relatives or interested persons.
