"NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1   (1) Not later than November 1, 2006, the department of health shall report to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature the following information:
     (a) The amount of total premiums paid directly or indirectly by the department for insurance through the Washington state health insurance pool established under chapter 48.41 RCW;
     (b) The number of individuals covered by the premiums paid directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the department for insurance through the Washington state health insurance pool;
     (c) The cost to the Washington state health insurance pool of covering all costs generated by enrollees whose premiums are paid, indirectly or directly, in whole or in part, through the department of health; and
     (d) A comparison between the number of persons who are enrolled in the Washington state health insurance pool and whose premiums are paid for, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the department of health and the number of persons who are enrolled in the Washington state health insurance pool and whose premiums are paid for, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by any other state or local department or agency.
     (2) By December 1, 2006, the department of health shall report the results of the audit required under subsection (1) of this section to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature."
