On page 6, beginning on line 28, after "(9)" strike all material
through "system." on line 33 and insert "If a public body elects to
enter into an agreement regarding a public water system, the agreement
shall include provisions ensuring that:
(a) All funds from state grants or loans received by the public
body or the service provider for projects or activities related to the
public water system are applied directly to benefit the system and the
customers of the system; and
(b) Any existing collective bargaining agreement remains in full
force and effect, including provisions recognizing existing bargaining
agents as the exclusive bargaining agents for any affected employees."
EFFECT: Adds requirement that service agreements concerning public water systems provide that existing collective bargaining agreements remain in full force and effect. Retains requirement in SSB 5285 that service agreements concerning public water systems require that all funds from state grants or loans received by public body or service provider for projects or activities related to the public water system are applied directly to benefit the system and the system's customers.
