Background:

Every county must have an equipment rental and revolving fund (fund) for:

The fund may be administered by the county engineer or another appointee of the county legislative body, but only the county engineer may determine the rates for the rental equipment owned by the fund.


Summary of Bill:

The rates for rental of equipment owned by the County Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund may be set by an appointee of the county legislative body, who may be someone other than the county engineer.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

Testimony For: This bill is a technical fix. It was an oversight to not allow the engineer or appointee to set the rates. This bill is by request of county commissioners.
