Background:
The Oregon Territorial Legislature first created Island county on January 6, 1853. In 1891 the
Washington State Legislature modified the statute to establish county boundaries for Island
county that include the following islands:
Summary of Bill:
The statutory boundary provisions for Island county are revised to include Strawberry Island, and
to rename Ure Island as Ben Ure Island. The description for Smith's Deception is divided into
Smith's Island and Deception Island.

Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
