Brief Summary of Bill
  • The Department of Social and Health Services (Department) will establish a pilot project using program for assertive community treatment teams in two regional support networks.

Background:

The program for assertive community treatment uses multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and services to people in their community with serious mental health issues. This program has reduced hospitalization, homelessness, and incarceration in areas where it operates.

Summary of Bill:

The Department will establish a pilot project using a multi-disciplinary program for assertive community treatment teams in two regional support networks. One regional support network will be in an urban area and one will be in a rural area.

Appropriation: None.

Fiscal Note: Requested on January 1/23/2006.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
