Background:

In 2005, a twenty-two member legislative youth advisory council was established to examine issues important to youth and advise the Legislature. Fourteen is the minimum age for appointment to the council. The council's statutory authority expires June 30, 2007.

Summary of Bill:

The minimum age for appointment to the council is lowered to twelve. The expiration date is removed.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
