Background: Interlocal agreements allow public agencies to engage in joint or cooperative actions with one another to provide public services or perform government activities as authorized by law. Interlocal agreements must be filed with the county auditor.

Summary of Bill: As an alternative to filing an interlocal agreement with the county auditor, a public agency may list the agreement on its web site or other electronically retrievable public source.

Appropriation: None.

Fiscal Note: Not requested.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

Testimony For: This just gives cities and other public agencies the ability to post interlocal agreements on their web sites rather than file them with the county auditor. The counties are okay with this bill.
