Background: When an employee leaves his or her employer, any wages due are to be paid to the employee at the end of the established pay period.

Summary of Bill: When an employee leaves his or her employer, any wages due are paid to the employee within 24-hours of the separation.

If an employer fails to pay the wages as required, the employer is liable for one hundred dollars in liquidated damages for each day the wages remain unpaid, in addition to any other available legal remedies.
