Background: Before the Liquor Control Board (LCB) can issue a beer retailer, wine or spirits retailer, beer and wine restaurant license, it must give written notice of the application for a license to churches, schools, and public institutions within 500 feet of the premises to be licensed. The LCB is prohibited from issuing the license if the school or public institution, after receiving written notice, objects to the issuance of the license.

Summary of Bill: The LCB has discretion to issue a spirits, beer, and wine restaurant license even if a school or public institution objects after being notified of the application for a license.
