Background: The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife administers the state's commercial and recreational fishing permit system. Revenues from hunting and fishing license sales are deposited into the State Wildlife Account, except commercial fishing licenses, annual resident adult saltwater licenses, and annual razor clam and shellfish licenses, which are deposited into the state's general fund.

According to the Department, current spending in the State Wildlife Account is outpacing incoming revenues.

Summary of Bill: This bill redirects commercial fishing, annual resident adult saltwater, and annual razor clam/shellfish licenses to the State Wildlife Account.
