Background: Salmon and steelhead stocks are significantly reduced by numerous predators and some of these predators are also protected under federal laws. In order to allow the recovery of this state's endangered and threatened anadromous species, modification in federal law and policy may be necessary as part of a comprehensive recovery program which includes harvest levels, hatchery programs, habitat improvement, predator control, dam modification, and in-stream flows.

Summary of Bill: Congress is asked to develop a more flexible program to control salmon and steelhead predators.
